Long Island Man With Five Active Bench Warrants Nabbed Attempting To Enter Security Checkpoint

A man with multiple warrants out for his arrest was taken into custody as he attempted to enter a Long Island Jail, the Sheriff’s Office announced.

Nesconset resident Gregory Belveduto, 30, was arrested shortly before 9:45 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27 for five active bench warrants as he was attempting to enter the Suffolk County Correctional Facility Security Booth checkpoint in Riverhead.

According to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, the warrants were issued for petit larceny, four counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, three counts of failure of surrender license plates, driving without insurance, and other vehicle and traffic law violations.

Belveduto was arraigned in First District Court and is scheduled to make an appearance later this year to respond to the charges.
